Constructed with Case Tru-Sharp Stainless Steel, this knife has special high-carbon steel that helps the blades holds an edge longer than conventional steel. The pattern was named for Case’s company founder, John Russell “Russ” Case by Tom Hart, who is credited with designing the knife in 2000, just prior to retiring from the company after 50 years of service.
